belly fat and heart disease
Is heart disease hereditary, if so what can you do to fight it?
I have a high percentage of males in my family with heart disease. What can I do to prevent myself from getting heart disease. I workout, eat healthy and I still have visceral fat around my abdomen. I’m 31 years old. I want it off along with my risk of heart disease eliminated. I don’t understand how this can be…it’s determined to stay on my belly regardless of my workout and diet of foods. Oh, I forgot to mention my grandfather along with my great uncles all were diabetics and had heart disease. Hereditary? I’m only 31 years old, and I’m not trying to end up like them. No disrespect to my elders in my ancestry, but you know what I mean…it’s a health issue and it’s dangerous.
You have some valid concerns. I suggest you take the next step and educate yourself about diabetes and heart disease.
Belly fat can increase your risk, but that doesn’t mean you will develop it. It sounds like you have a lot of good things going for you already like exercising and eating healthy. So keep those things going and educate yourself on the rest.
Understand what food does to blood sugar might be one place to begin.
I have found a website that explains a lot of information that may help you out and some of the information on heart disease may surprise you.
Good luck to you.
