If I don’t even have the power to “spot reduce”, why does nature?
I know that it is not possible to spot reduce. It is only possible to tighten muscles, but it will not show unless you get rid of the fat on top. I have been following Weight Watchers for 3 wks. I get in 2 servings of dairy a day, 5 servings of fruits & vegetables, and the whole healthy works. I have been going to the gym for 2 months. I do 30-45 minutes of cardio 3-4 times a wk, with weight training as well. I have noticed a significant difference in my legs, and butt.
Why am I not noticing a change in my stomach size? I have appx a 33″ waist when measured by my belly button. I do not want to have chicken legs, with a huge stomach. Will my stomach ever shrink?
Yes, your stomach will shrink, give it time. I am build like you, the “apple” type, I carry all the unwanted fat on my belly. I start loose everywhere else; the belly goes down last. But it will! Keep it up.

Walking is the best exercise to loose fat. A Phd in physical education informed me of that and I was very surprised.
In addition to walking, there are some excellent DVDs on the market, I like the ones from www.beachbody.com

Since I started walking my waist has been shrinking faster than when I used to do aerobics.
Avoid running if you are obese (the Fitday website will help you determine if you are). It could harm your joints.
