Androgen Diet?
i have an extremely high level of androgens, due to PCOS, which i was recently diagnosed with, but it’s abnormally high for even that condition. I’m already on bc pills, the ones that you only have a period every 3 months, but i’ve continued to gain weight and suspect that I still have really thick lining in my uterus from not being able to have periods.
i’ve scheduled another doctor’s appointment, but i don’t think there will be much she can do. According to a lot of menopause info sites, gaining weight on your tummy is due to these high levels of androgens. I do feel bloated, but this larger tummy thing has also happened with me.
I have a pretty good schedule for exercise and eat healthily. Does anyone know a *SPECIFIC* list of foods that I can eat to reduce my levels of androgens so I will not continue to get this belly fat? it feels like i’m carrying a child
You need to ask your doctor this question.
Ask the Dr. about this plan.
Try balancing your meals 70% protein 30% carbs. Eat your proteins from lean sources (Chicken, fish, boiled eggs, lean beef with all the fat drained off) and beans (lentil, lima, chile or any type of bean) For your carbs stay away from breads and rice. They do provide energry but they are high in calories. Choose leafy vegetables, carrots, raisins, broccoli and fresh fruits.
Make a life style change that includes exercise and six small meals per day. Drink water not empty calorie soda.
Nothing beats healthy eating. Good Luck
