Essential oil of lemon (Citrus limon) is one of the oils that can be used for many different applications. It is highly anti-bacterial and smells wonderfully refreshing. It's one of my very favorite essential oils.

Lemon essential oil has high quantities of a compound called limonene. This compound has been investigated for its ability to combat cell mutation, which is the first stage of cancer. A personal friend of mine was able to beat breast cancer by using lemon essential oil.

It also improves circulation and stimulates the immune system by increasing white blood cells. Health wise, which is used mainly to problems circulation, arteriosclerosis, obesity, parasites, urinary tract infections, varicose veins, anxiety, hypertension, digestive problems, depression and acne.

And one of the cheapest of all essential oils!

Here are 18 ways people use wonderful Young Living lemon oil.

1. Natural Air Freshener – Put 12 drops in a small spray bottle mixed with distilled water.

2. The taste of water – Use 1-2 drops in water (acts like a natural detoxification of the body) instead of fresh water with fruit flavor. * Young Living Lemon essential oil is approved by the FDA for ingestion. Please do not ingest the essential oil from another company .*

3. Homemade Lemonade – Mix 2 drops with 2 tablespoons honey or agave and 2 cups water. Shake well and serve over ice. You can add more or less to taste.

4. Soothe Corns and calluses – Rub 1 drop in the affected area morning and evening.

5. Clean fruit – Fill a bowl with water and add 2 drops of lemon oil. Put your fruit in bowl and mix well. Make sure all contact surfaces of the fruit lemon water. This works to increase the useful life of the fruit, too.

6. Disinfect Counter Tops – Add 2-3 drops of a spray bottle with water.

7. Goo Gone – Use 1-2 drops can remove gum, oil, grease spots or crayon.

8. Disinfect Dish sponge or cloth – Add 1 drop in a bowl of water and soak your sponge or cloth on overnight.

9. Dishwasher Boost – Add 1 drop of your dishwasher to enhance cleaning and disinfection.

10. Disinfect hands – Rub 1 drop of hands after using the restroom, especially public bathrooms!

11. Disinfect Bathroom Fixtures – Use a paper towel soaked with several drops of lemon oil and go through the accessories.

12. To relieve sore gums – Rub 1 drop on the sore or swollen gums.

13. Oily skin – Rub 1 drop on oily skin or patches to help balance sebaceous glands.
** I should mention that when using citrus essential oils directly onto the skin without diluting with vegetable oil, should not direct sunlight. Citrus essential oils can cause your skin sensitive to the photo of about 24 hours after application. Only take care! **

14. Cellulitis – Rub several drops in areas of cellulite to improve circulation and help eliminate waste from the cells.

15. Athlete's foot – Rub 2 drops topically to the affected areas.

16. Improve circulation – Rub several drops on the legs, in an upward motion.

17. Sanitize cutting boards – Rub 1 drop on any cut surfaces.

18. Carpet Cleaning – Put 10-15 drops per gallon of carpet cleaning solution to help remove stains and brightness of the carpet.
